The reason: I have decided to relinquish my responsibilities at Inspirometer for the opportunity of an extended sabbatical. But if you now have a picture of me sat around with my feet up … ???
Actually, I am doing something that I should have done long ago – trying to understand what REALLY makes people and organisations tick!
Whilst Inspirometer is thriving, both technically and operationally (download the free app and see!) it has become clear that we can have much greater impact on people’s growth and relationships if we can do something more in the psychological and cultural areas of its adoption … to overcome the subconscious resistance people have to feedback.
As a result, I am excited to have the time to look more deeply at two key themes:
- The ‘culture’ component of what has become known as ‘digital culture’ – the extent to which people’s interactions make best use of the potential available; how that impacts enthusiasm, creativity and teamwork; and what most influences this
- What organisations want/need to achieve out of the above to compete successfully; how they clarify their goals around this; and how they influence culture and collaborations to achieve them
I believe these two things are becoming increasingly strategically vital to all organisations, and I am embarking on a new journey of discovery, talking to people and absorbing the research, and really looking forward to the insights I hope will emerge.
